hey mate, i do have *huge* second thoughts about the sections. when i was making the drawings all i could think of was our talk about the Delugan Meissl section of the porsche museum. we were both agreeing on the fact that the loss of space is a sign of poor(ish)/extravagant design. anyway, now i have a ~coherent strategy for purposefully using that space – since this is over i guess it’s too late but i’ll keep it in mind in case it ever gets built :p

Aight hombre! Good to see stuff flowing through the dimi-district. I like the analytical aspect of the project (ie how depthmap locates pressure sources). Visuals are nicely done, but sections need some coherency to me however the thing is a very urban scheme though and a nice non-standard strategy. 9/10 and a load of props

Hey Rodrigo, thanks for the heads up. indeed topostruct was used for "sketching" some topological optimization. I used solid thinking/inspired for the detailed analysis. The forces were defined after carefully inspecting the circulation/visibility analysis (depthmap) of the site and its surroundings - basically the visual and circulation flows were my starting points. Where they were "pressing" against my site i created a force proportional to the amount of, let's say, urban pressure. I don't know how can this be applied to furniture design since it's all in an urban context, but i guess you can use possible placements of objects as a force generating objects or different space-constraints (ie people seated around the table). Hi Dimitrie congratulations your approach to this project its very interesting I will like to understand how did you defined the forces for the structural analysis,It looks that you have used topostruct to create the optimized volume to extarct it from the original model I like it a lot , I´m currently designing some conceptual furniture modeling and it will be interting to apply a similar approach.
